Release of 0.10.0-test2 ISO

Justin “flux_control” Boffemmyer has posted to the sm-discuss mailinglist to announce the release of the 0.10.0-test2 ISO. This release combines fixes and improvements from the test1 run amongst other long-standing changes/bugs from the two ISO’s before test1. Message follows.

“I am currently uploading smgl-0.10.0-test2 to the main server. The upload will finish in approximately 45 minutes. After that, it will be another several hours before it propagates across the mirrors. Anyway, 0.10.0-test2 is now officially released.

PLEASE FILE BUG REPORTS.

There are far too few bugs actually filed on bugs.sourcemage.org for the ISOs. The emails are nice, but much harder to track.

This release is mostly a bug-fix release. It fixes the following major issues from 0.10.0-test1:
* no more eth0-eth5 remappings and other oddities
* changes to the kernel config that hopefully will let it boot both without an initrd and boot on more hardware
* the formatting of the step instructions has been altered, hopefully improving readability
* the installer code logic has been improved a bit
* the ‘back’ command was renamed to ‘prev’, which is more in line with ‘next’

There were also some other minor bugfixes. Unfortunately improvements to the algorithm(s) for detecting the cdrom to install from in the initrd did not make it into this release, as improvements are still being researched. These improvements should make it into test3.”
